David Erquiaga ships the WPT ’20 10K NLH FO for PHP 178,088

The World Poker Tour is currently underway at the Okada Manila in Philippines with a 12-day long series. 10 tournaments have been concluded so far, declaring winners of the respective events. Recently, the 10K Freezeout also had an emerging winner in the Asian circuit, David Erquiaga claimed the WPT trophy along with PHP 178,088 in prize money. 

The 10th event registered a total of 58 entries where players were running for the first-place prize money, at a buy-in of PHP 15,000. The event generated a prize pool of PHP 495,088 which was to be shared among the top 8 places, earning a min-cash worth PHP 18,000.

The 8-handed final table was created eventually and the first one to bust out with a large portion of his stack to Naoya Fujihisa was Brett Kennedy, failing to dominate Fujihisa’s straight with his JJ. Followed by Yosuke Shinjo busting out in 7th place and then gradually whittling down the field to 2-handed play, Erquiaga with 8d 8h railed out Fujihisa having Ks 9d and winning the tournament taking home PHP 178,088 whereas Fujihisa headed towards the payout desk to earn PHP 105,000 in prize money. 

Erquiaga just last year took down APT Deepstack Turbo in Ho Chi Minh. He also finished 3rd in the ongoing tournament PHP 15,000 Bounty. However, he earned his career-best $51,063 in 2019 APT Vietnam Championship event.

The festival consists of 21 tournaments and the runners have been eyeing on the top attraction of the series, the Main Event PHP 12 million GTD which is scheduled from 14th to 17th of February 2020.
