The legend and probably the smartest cricketer to ever grace the game, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has been making the rounds around the online gaming block since 2018. He’s been looking to partner with online gaming websites and platforms with the first one being Dream XI in 2018.
Since that deal, Dream XI has been rocketeting upwards, going international as well as partnering with the ICC. Now in 2020, MS Dhoni has partnered with PokerStars India and will be their new brand ambassador!
Before Dhoni, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was the face of the brand on social media and television.
According to reports, it has been said that MS Dhoni was signed a while back but the announcement was delayed because of the panic and cancellations of public affairs due to the coronavirus outbreak! The Indian Premier League(IPL) and other sporting events were also cancelled around the world.
The announcement was finally made yesterday when PokerStars unveiled their new brand ambassador through their Facebook page.
PokerStars India has been upping the ante in terms of marketing in recent months including having been associate sponsor of one of the most popular reality shows in the country, Bigg Boss. Apart from that, PokerStars branding has also been visible on public transports and hoardings around the country.
This latest partnership might just be their most profitable in terms of revenue and the advancement of poker in the country as a whole as MS Dhoni is certainly one of the most respected figures in the country!
