PSL Offline Qualifiers: CANCELLED!

The Poker Sports League is one of the most popular events in terms of the format in the country and a lot of poker players have been preparing to take part in Season 3. The online qualifiers are being played out for a while now on their app #Hashtag Poker.

The qualifiers have received a 50% increase in the number of participants because of the coronavirus outbreak that has been keeping everyone inside their homes. However, this has led the PSL to cancel their offline qualifiers wherein they select 13 players for the final draft.

The completion of the online/offline qualifiers leads to the final draft where the 6 teams are formed. The next 8 days decide the fate of the teams in the PSL 3 Finale to win the title and a cash prize pool of INR 4CR., the biggest in the country for a league.

The coronavirus outbreak has led to the postponement of all live events and tournaments. The PSL will be no different. Most of the major platforms have taken their live tournaments online and it won’t be a surprise if the PSL is held online.

The numbers of participants have been very encouraging for the PSL team as well as for the growth of poker in the country but the pandemic and resulting lockdown has halted the progress for the moment.
