Thursday Majors Round-Up

Thursday night saw Alok Birewar take down not one but two massive guarantees on Spartan and PokerBaazi. It was truly a nailbiter yesterday. Let’s take a look at the biggest winners from last night!


Thursday’s biggest event on Adda52 was the 25L GTD The Godfather. The tournament received a total of 602 entries, crushing the guarantee and generating a prize pool of ₹30.10 Lakhs!

Online pro Anirban ‘AjGar5’ Das shipped the event last night earning himself a payout of ₹7.07 Lakhs! He beat ‘felter’ who finished runner-up for a payout of ₹4.12 Lakhs!


The 20L GTD The Summit is the flagship Thursday major tournament on PokerBaazi. The tournament received a total of 314 entries, generating a prize pool of ₹23.55 Lakhs,  with a very tough field filled with some of the biggest names in the Indian poker community as PokerBaazi major tournaments normally do. It was an online grinder Alok ‘The Professional’ Birewar , who shipped the event for a payout of ₹5.20 Lakhs after beating Dhruv ‘dg2739’ Gandhi in the final heads up battle who finished runner-up for ₹3.65 Lakhs.

PokerStars India:

The 50L GTD INSCOOP Highroller was the main attraction yesterday on PokerStars India. The tournament received a total of 200 entries. A total of 34 places were paid. Sriharsha ‘1ll|1ll1|ll1|’ Doddapaneni shipped the event, taking down a massive payout of ₹9.81 Lakhs. Online reg Anant ‘Dr4gonW4rrior’ Purohit finished runner-up and earned himself a payout of ₹7.23 Lakhs!

Spartan Poker:

The 20L GTD The Ultron was the major tournament on Spartan Poker yesterday. The tournament received a total of 586 entries. 55 places were paid with a min. cash of ₹11,485. The total prize pool generated was ₹23.44 Lakhs! It took a long and hard  grind for Alok ‘Mazacar’ Birewar to ship ANOTHER event after beating Anant ‘Pro’ Purohit  in the final heads-up, who finished runner-up for the second time yesterday, earning him a payout of ₹2.88 Lakhs!
